About us

The South African Footwear and Leather Export Council was officially recognized and registered by the Department of Trade & Industry as a Section 21 Company (not for gain) in March 2002. Our offices are situated in Westville, Durban. At the head of SAFLEC is the Executive Director, Nerisha Jairaj, who is assisted by Louise Pelser the Finance and Administration manager together with Prenisha Dukhipersad who is the Personal Assistant.

Our Team

This year extensive effort was made to ensure a wider demographic representation which includes people from previously disadvantaged backgrounds as well as from the SME sector. We are also fortunate to have ensured women’s empowerment through the employment of an Executive Director, Nerisha Jairaj who now heads SAFLEC under the guidance of our board of directors.
