Business capabilities include managing and coordinating retail operations, management and the continuous improvement of the merchandise supply chain processes to maximise operational performance and manage costs. Tavonga has branched into manufacturing where he heads up product development, domestic and regional sales and marketing across Africa.

Tven Heyer is a Marketing graduate with an extensive knowledge of brand & retail management, as well as business development, having spent 8 years at Reebok South Africa prior to joining the BBF Safety Group. During his time at Reebok, he was also responsible for driving business beyond South Africa into some of the neighbouring SADC countries. Tven joined the BBF Safety Group in May 2015, setting-up a fully-fledged Exports Division, whilst further learning the complexities of exports, specifically into Africa.

Born in 1974, Kate is the CEO of The Little Slipper Company, a footwear manufacturer specializing in children’s leather footwear based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.
Having joined the family business in 1995, Kate started in the design room and worked her way up; she was later appointed Critical Path Manager and Head of Sales and Marketing respectively.
After 21 years in the footwear industry and with experience gained dealing with both local and international retailers, which includes Marks and Spencer’s UK, which eventually lead to her appointment to the CEO’s office in January 2016.

Born in 1972, Andrew is the Managing Director of Saddler Belts. Andrew initially studied Mechanical Engineering after which he completed an Advanced Business Programme part-time.
Andrew joined Saddler Belts & Leathercraft (Pty) Ltd (a company found by his father in 1990) in 2001 as delivery driver and worked himself up until he was eventually appoint General Manager and then Managing Director about 5 years ago.

Born in 1979, Ahmed is the owner of FootCoverings. Ahmed has been in the footwear industry for over 18 years. Last year he took the bold step of leaving the comfort of the family business and ventured out on his own. FootCoverings was established. Ahmed is currently working with 3 different factories that are manufacturing a range of footwear which he markets locally as well as into Africa, on his own brand.
The range consists of men’s casual and formal leather footwear, ladies pumps and sandals as well as school shoes. He is also heading up development and marketing at Spectrum Footwear. FootCoverings will be launching a range of men’s suits and leather belts within the next 6 months. Fashion lounge shirts and casual trousers will join the range during the first half of 2017.

Born in 1976, Janine is currently the Sales and Marketing Manager at Nikkita Footwear. Janine joined Nikkita Footwear as an accountant in 2007. She thereafter worked her way to become the Administration Manager before being offered the position as Sales and Marketing Manager. Janine is very involved with exports and work very closely with the major retailers.

In August 2014 Nerisha Jairaj joined SAFLEC as the New Executive Director and was promoted to Executive Director in 2015. Nerisha Jairaj now heads SAFLEC under the guidance of the SAFLEC Board of Directors.
Nerisha Jairaj comes with a BTech Honours in Business Administration and MBA Organisational Behaviour, Strategy and General (ongoing), 20 years of export, procurement and international trade experience.
More about Louise Pelser
Louise Pelser handles SAFLEC’s Finance and Administration and is a valuable member of the SAFLEC team. Louise joined SAFLEC in February 2009 after spending 4 months temping for SAFLIA.
She was appointed as Finance & Admin Manager in 2015. She has also been elected at the Chair Person of the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Trade & Investment Forum.
More about Prenisha Dukhipersad
PrenishaDukhipersad joined the SAFLEC team on 8 February 2016 as the Personal Assistant. Prenisha is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate majoring in Marketing and Management.
She also gained practical experience and theoretical training through the Bank Seta learnership and has attained a National Certificate in Banking Services Advice with a distinction. Prenisha has proven herself to be invaluable to the SAFLEC team.
