eThekwini Footwear and Leather Cluster

eThekwini and SAFLEC have joined forces to bring to the eThekwini regional manufacturers, eThekwini F&L export program aimed at empowering local manufacturers with targeted skills and competencies to enable manufacturing growth and export development.

The eThekwini Footwear and Leather Cluster (EFLC) was established in 2018 and funded for 3 years via a memorandum of agreement for the 2018 – 2021 period. This July the program was approved for another 3 years. EFLC comprises of 5 programs aimed at strengthening the competitiveness and export capability of the footwear and leather sector in the region. Below is a list of the five programs.

By 2035, the eThekwini Leather and Footwear Industry Cluster will be a world-class manufacturing business grouping that is highly skilled, export driven, technologically modernized, design-conscious and environmentally efficient in meeting the demands of Africa and beyond.
